For fast acting relief, try slowing down. - Lily Tomlin

A Slow Living Lifestyle is about creating a more contented life.

One you don’t feel the need to escape -

  • nourish your body and mind

  • cultivate community

  • seek beauty, engage your senses

We are here to inspire balance, bring people together in physical spaces, and offer simple pleasures for the Art of Slow Living.

Being able to to live into the mission of slow living is a privilege. It’s also a challenge, and means being really clear on your priorities. Mine are family, balance, authenticity and meaningful human connections.

A little about Monique and Alchemy…

Alchemy was born of a desire for a life in balance. I wanted to create a life that allows me to fully embody a Slow-Living lifestyle. And by doing so, hold myself accountable and inspire others to embrace this as well because I know the struggle is real.

To me, alchemy is where science begins to feel more like magic.
Alchemy creates experiences through connection and intentional community. I have a B.S. in Recreation and Leisure Studies which informs my views on wellness, Slow Living and human connections. I am also a licensed esthetician and love the interplay of sensory input, the science of plant medicine, and where these dovetail with the quest for a more contented life. We inspire purposeful living by bringing people together through authentic products and experiences.

In the bustle of the world and life, I believe rituals that encourage you to take care of you are a necessity.  These devotions help you to remember that nurturing yourself enables you to more effectively tend to life’s other priorities.  Whether it’s a facial or adorning henna body art, or Alchemy experiences at home, these moments for yourself enrich your soul.

I crave authentic ingredients and interactions. I have always avoided synthesized, factory skin care in favor of making my own. In the early nineties, I purchased my first bottle of essential oil, which began my experiments in alchemy: soap making, lotions, henna, and eventually, perfumes.
