Slow Living isn't a 'Still-life'

For many, one of the lessons of the last year has been “awareness of time”. And finding new and fulfilling ways to use it.

I encourage you to cherish and protect that new space:

We are going to find that “obligation” begins to creep in and take over.

Search the hashtag #slowliving and #theartofslow you get a lot of filters and staged still-life photos. As a leisure major and evangelist for the Slow Life, I’d like to present a different interpretation. It’s not a vibe. Or a filter layered over a photo - -

SLOW LIVING IS:

an accessible way of balancing time and energy in daily life that makes non-work time as valuable as work-time

The real-life choices and boundaries you set on time aren’t a pretty picture. If everything is a priority, then nothing is. Keeping to them can be hard in the beginning. But the end result is a much more contented life.

As restrictions are lifted, and those of us have enjoyed “can’t, pandemic” will no longer have the cover of an excuse. We will have to be steadfast in our conviction if we are going to continue to enjoy that balance

Nourish relationships. Protect the activities that nourish YOU.
